Kjell Schei - CEO
With more than twenty-nine years of experience spanning every dealership role from lot
attendant to Vice President of Operations and Partner, Kjell D. Schei has built a career
fueled by passion, grit, and results. Today, he is recognized as a transformative leader
in the automotive industry, known for driving record-setting profitability, operational
excellence, and groundbreaking dealership expansion across the West Coast.
Kjell currently serves as Founder and CEO of AGERE Automotive Inc., where he
assembled a legal, acquisition, and automotive team to spearhead strategic dealership
consolidations. Prior to this, his leadership as Dealer Principal and General Manager at
Porsche Bellevue and Porsche Irvine earned him the AutoNation Chairman Coast to
Coast Award and established new benchmarks in sales and customer satisfaction,
including increasing net profit from $1.8M to $16M.
His career is marked by pivotal roles at BMW of Bellevue—where his stewardship made
it the most profitable BMW store in AutoNation—and Porsche Bellevue, where he
oversaw large-scale construction projects and elevated the dealership’s status
nationally. As Vice President of the Barrier Group, he expanded operations, achieved
flagship recognition, and garnered prestigious awards across multiple brands including
Audi, Mercedes, Porsche, and Volvo.
Kjell holds a Business Finance degree from Seattle University and has complemented
his education with executive certificates from MIT Sloan School of Management, Cornell
Law School, and the University of St. Gallen. Beyond the boardroom, he’s a certified
private pilot and U.S. Coast Guard-licensed maritime captain, embodying the same
fearless pursuit of excellence that defines his professional journey.
